Setting Sail to FUSION 2012
This is one of the most exciting times of the year for us at Desire2Learn. Getting ready for FUSION, the anticipation is building at the office and, if the amount of Tweets we’re seeing on the subject is any indication, you are just as excited as we are about heading off to San Diego! I’ve been counting down the days and am incredibly excited that our best and biggest users’ conference is almost here!
FUSION is the premier opportunity for us to interact with you and for you to collaborate with other clients – to share ideas and to shape the future of education. The passion, commitment, and energy that educators bring with them to FUSION is inspiring – I am always energized by the dedication of educators seeking to continually improve how their learners learn. We are incredibly proud to be a partner in your learning journey and FUSION is a great celebration of this partnership.
Our theme this year, Chart Your Course, fits perfectly with this idea. It’s about providing you with a fresh new set of approaches and perspectives on teaching and learning. This year offers 200+ sessions aimed at showcasing how to use Desire2Learn technology in new and innovative ways. You’ll also walk away with expertise and tools that will allow you to plan the next steps in your learning path.
Our keynote speakers are all seasoned educators, thought-leaders, and trailblazers in their own right; they will surely inspire you to think differently about education and to see the power that innovation has in improving human potential. Sal Khan is going to challenge us to “rethink education,” and share his thoughts on the evolution of the Khan Academy – a nonprofit founded with the mission to provide education anywhere, anytime. Rear Admiral Arnold Lotring is a distinguished government and military leader who has invaluable insight into the realm of professional development. And, Rafe Esquith has been called the best schoolteacher in America, empowering students from one of the toughest school districts in the United States to become Ivy-League superstars.
To those attending in person, we are looking forward to an action-packed conference where you will bring home invaluable insight to ensure your learners reach their full potential. Keep those Tweets coming and remember to use the official conference hashtag, #FUSION12. For those who can’t attend in person, we’ll be live-streaming a number of sessions on the Community via Desire2Learn Capture at www.desire2learn.com/community. We’ll be live-tweeting throughout FUSION using the @Desire2Learn handle so follow us at www.twitter.com/Desire2Learn for up-to-the-minute updates from Desire2Learn staff, on the show floor.
I’ll be taking the stage on Monday to talk about the current educational landscape and how Desire2Learn is partnering with educators around the world to continue transforming teaching and learning. I hope you can join me. This promises to be an amazing conference and I can’t wait to see you there.
See you at FUSION 2012!
