This session will help you make the most out of the Content tool so you can better prepare for your next course and utilize some of the latest features in Desire2Learn 8.2. This session focuses not only on the accessibility features of Desire2learn, but on how basic themes and best practices can be easily incorporated into creating or updating your next course to make it accessible for everyone. Learn how to deliver your material in an easily accessible manner, how to exploit the multiple access points in Desire2learn to appeal to any learning style, and how various users could be accessing your course with assistive technology. This hands-on session helps new and returning instructors personalize their online courses. Learn how to create RSS feeds, javascript, and images to create interesting homepage widgets. Use custom links in your navigation bar to create an extended but seamless learning experience. Learn how to create new custom templates for your course navigation bar. Make an interactive course experience for your learners with carefully placed release conditions. Make your course interesting and active! This session provides an in-depth look at Desire2learn's reoffering procedures. You will be learning how to best prepare for the next semester and to move the courses around to be more efficient. This hands-on session provides an in-depth look at Desire2learn's key Evaluation Tool – Quizzes! What are the hallmarks of an effective and accessible quiz? Learn about organizing your question bank in the Question Library and recycling old quizzes into new self-assessments before final exams. Produce reports and link your evaluations to your gradebook for easy assessment. This hands-on session provides an in-depth look at Desire2learn's Grades tool. How can you best use the Grades tool to make managing your grades the simplest and less time consuming task? How can you control exactly what the student sees? Have you ever wondered what is the calculated grade item or the formula grade item? Do you want to learn how to use the Formula editor? This session will help you make the most out of the grades tool. This hands-on session explores the use of the Desire2learn Competencies tool as a method of evaluating the performance, knowledge, and skills of a learner. Create course competencies and group class activities into learning objectives. Use Rubrics to assess learner achievement levels and determine areas of weaknesses. Build a course competency off a currently existing gradebook, or create a new competency to assess skills external to course activity.
