Configuration and Release Developer (Ref #D2LCRD2008C)
General Description:
Configuration and Release Developer will help to support and maintain the Desire2Learn's Software Configuration Management, assist build team in build and release processes including automated build (creating and maintaining build scripts), version control, release management and deployment across multiple applications, projects and platforms. They will assist with package testing and they work closely with cross functional teams, including Project Management, Development and Quality Assurance prior to release.

Main Duties:
- Automation of application builds and component builds
- Assist with the of application deployment for one or more projects simultaneously
- Assist with supporting Source Code Management tools
- Create and maintain SCM/CM documentation
- Package testing prior to release
Requirements:
- Some knowledge of SCM practices, processes and guidelines
- Familiar with the major scripting languages such as NAnt, MSBuild
- Must be detailed and process oriented
- Knowledge of SQL
- Strong analysis, documentation, and problem solving skills
- Ability to work with cross functional teams
- Ability to work in an environment that has frequent task changes and additions
- Ability to support staff on automation and deployment techniques
- Excellent communication skills
The following would be considered assets:
- Proficiency with revision management tools such as Subversion, CVS, Perforce, ClearCase
- Familiar with configuration build tools
